Introducing Tommy Monnot: R2 Sealant Systems’ New Operations Manager
R2 Sealants Staff | October 13, 2025

Massillon, OH — R2 Sealant Systems continues to grow, not only in capacity and innovation, but in talent. We are pleased to welcome Tommy Monnot as our new Operations Manager, bringing with him a decade of leadership experience, a strong focus on operational excellence, and a commitment to fostering teamwork and accountability across the organization.
A Decade of Experience and a Drive for Growth
Before joining R2, Tommy spent ten years with Anheuser-Busch, working his way from sales representative to management. That journey, he says, gave him valuable insight into how every piece of a business fits together.
“I worked at Anheuser-Busch for 10 years until the branch closed,” Tommy shared. “I started as a sales rep, then worked my way up to a management position. Once Anheuser-Busch closed, I knew I wanted to continue my career with a strong local business. In my short few weeks at R2, I’ve been blown away with how successful this business is.”
That strong local foundation, paired with R2’s incredible momentum, was exactly what drew him in.
“I was attracted to R2 because the company is constantly growing,” he explained. “One of the first things I heard and read about R2 was how much everyone contributes to achieve the same goal at the end of the day.”
First Impressions and a Welcoming Team
From the moment Tommy stepped through the doors, he felt at home.
“My first impression was great, starting with Derek Miller (President/CEO of R2 Sealants) all the way down throughout the other positions within the company,” he said. “Everyone was kind and welcomed me with open arms since the first day I walked through the plant. The cleanliness and size of the plant really put into perspective how much the company is and plans on growing in the future.”
Building a Strong and Efficient Operations Team
As Operations Manager, Tommy is focused on fostering communication, teamwork, and accountability.
“Communication is the number one factor when building a strong operations team,” he emphasized. “You must be willing to step out of your job description when needed, doing whatever it takes to achieve the goal for not only yourself, but your team as well.”
That mindset also extends to maintaining a culture of safety and excellence on the production floor as well as both giving and owning accountability.
“You must hold your team accountable, whether that’s correcting them when they’re wrong or telling them good job when they’re doing great,” he said. “Safety is very important when you’re working in a fast-paced environment, which is why we talk about it every day to make sure we’re enforcing it on the plant floor.”
Looking Ahead: Innovation and Expansion
Tommy sees tremendous potential in R2’s future, and he’s eager to play a role in shaping it.
“I plan to improve the operations at R2 by identifying any gaps within the team, improving workflows, and helping build an operational backbone that supports sustainable growth,” he explained.
He’s confident that the company’s trajectory will continue to soar.
“I see R2 expanding and growing even larger than we are now,” Tommy said. “The success of this business is incredible, especially for being a newer company. I truly think the potential is limitless, and I am excited to be part of it.”
Beyond the Office
When he’s not managing operations, Tommy enjoys spending time with his wife, Macey, and their two children, Tommy Jr. (2) and Maren (1). Together, they love camping, being outdoors, and working on their family farm that is home to cows, goats, and chickens. Tommy also enjoys hunting and fishing.
One fun fact that might surprise his coworkers and customers? Tommy played four years of baseball at Kent State University and even competed in the 2012 College World Series, an experience that taught him the power of teamwork and perseverance.
A Simple Motto with Big Impact
Tommy lives by a straightforward but powerful motto:
“Work hard, even when nobody is watching. If you aren’t working hard when the lights are off, then you truly aren’t working hard.”
That mindset aligns perfectly with R2’s culture of integrity, effort, and continuous improvement.
A Message from Tommy to his R2 Family
“I truly appreciate everyone welcoming me,” he shared. “I’m looking forward to a successful future working alongside such wonderful coworkers.”
We’re proud to have Tommy on the R2 team and can’t wait to see the positive impact his leadership will bring as we continue to grow, innovate, and build stronger bonds together.
Please join us in welcoming Tommy to the R2 team!
