Quality Control Technician – R2 Sealant Systems
Location: Massillon, OH
Hours: Monday – Friday | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about maintaining high-quality standards in a manufacturing environment? R2 Sealant Systems is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support our 2nd shift production team by ensuring products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a lab setting, enjoy data analysis, and are committed to continuous improvement.


Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity, supporting production, and driving quality improvements through data analysis, testing procedures, and cross-department communication.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Testing

  • Inspect and test raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications
  • Perform batch quality checks including moisture, temperature, density, and related testing
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual testing per product requirements
  • Perform specialized testing including color spectrometer checks, skin time, tack time, cure rates, elasticity, weathering, and aging
  • Set up and perform titration and Karl Fischer titration testing

Data, Reporting & Compliance

  • Accurately record, verify, and report all test results
  • Enter and maintain data within quality control databases
  • Ensure all testing adheres to industry regulations and internal standards
  • Assist in establishing specifications, data trending, and analytical method validation

Process Improvement & Auditing

  • Develop and improve quality control tests, processes, and procedures
  • Ensure corrective actions are properly implemented and followed
  • Perform periodic audits of production processes and finished goods
  • Oversee internal and third-party quality audit programs

Lab & Equipment Management

  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory and plant equipment on a routine basis
  • Manage lab supplies, SOPs, and quality-related programs
  • Maintain chemical storage in a safe, compliant, and organized manner

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work cross-functionally with production, management, and other departments
  • Assist in resolving customer inquiries related to quality
  • Communicate quality status updates and potential issues to internal teams
  • Support project requests and coordinate with managers for timely completion
  • Participate in developing quality specifications for raw materials, finished goods, and alternative materials

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to accurately document and interpret data
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
