Safety Coordinator – R2 Sealant Systems
Location: Massillon, OH
Hours: Monday – Friday | Day Shift
Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health (OSHA) guidelines and company policies. The Safety Coordinator will play a key role in promoting a culture of safety, conducting training, and reducing workplace risks through inspections, reporting, and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies

• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across all departments

• Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions

• Coordinate and lead safety training sessions (PPE, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, etc.)

• Maintain all safety records, documentation, and training logs for compliance purposes

• Develop, review, and improve safety policies and standard operating procedures

• Serve as a key point of contact for safety concerns; lead toolbox talks and team safety meetings

• Support supervisors and management in identifying and resolving safety issues

• Oversee emergency preparedness procedures, including fire drills and evacuation plans

• Manage waste collection, segregation, and disposal processes to ensure a safe and clean facility

• Facilitate new hire orientation and ongoing safety training programs

• Track and manage safety supplies such as PPE, first aid kits, and signage

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, or related field preferred

• OSHA 10 or 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)

• 1–3 years of experience in a safety-related role (manufacturing, construction, or logistics preferred)

• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and best safety practices

• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

• Ability to respond effectively in emergencies and make sound decisions under pressure

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools

Work Environment

• Combination of office and production floor settings

• PPE use and adherence to safety protocols required

• Standing, walking, and inspecting facilities for extended periods may be necessary

• Full-time schedule with occasional evening or weekend hours for training or incident response
