Reinforcing Our Commitment to Safety: CPR & First Aid Training at R2
R2 Sealants Staff | April 17, 2026
Massillon, OH – At R2 Sealant Systems, safety is more than a policy, it’s a core part of our day-to-day operations. This week, several members of our leadership team completed CPR and First Aid training. This is another step toward building a workplace that is prepared, aware, and ready to act when it matters most.
Following the training, Safety Coordinator Jamie Miner reflected on the experience and the importance of equipping our team with real, practical skills for emergency situations. In those moments, every second counts.
A Proactive Approach to Safety and Leadership
“At R2, we take a proactive approach to health and safety,” Jamie shares. “By training as many leaders as possible in First Aid, CPR, AED use, and Bloodborne Pathogens, we are making sure they are ready to respond confidently and effectively.”
The training, led by experienced professionals, combined classroom learning with hands-on practice. Leaders learned how to recognize situations like cardiac arrest, choking, and injuries, then practiced how to respond in real time. From performing CPR and using an AED to treating wounds, burns, and other conditions, the training covered a wide range of scenarios.
“The hands-on portion really makes it stick,” Jamie explains. “It helps build that confidence so if something does happen, you are not second-guessing yourself. You are ready to act.”
This preparation gives leaders the ability to step in right away, stay calm, and take the right steps until professional help arrives. Because they are often responsible for others on the floor, that level of readiness can make a meaningful difference.
Building a Culture That Puts Safety First
At R2, leadership is not just about managing. It is about showing up for your team, especially in critical moments.
“Our leaders are in positions where people look to them for guidance,” Jamie shares. “Having this training means they can step up, take action, and help when it is needed most.”
Trainings like this also reinforce a bigger message. Safety is a shared responsibility across the organization.
“When leaders are trained, it sends a message that safety matters to everyone,” Jamie says. “It becomes part of the everyday mindset. It is not just something written in a handbook.”
From Jamie’s perspective, the training was a strong success. It struck the right balance between instruction and hands-on practice, kept participants engaged, and built real confidence. The instructor also created an enjoyable environment that made the experience memorable.
Looking Ahead
At R2 Sealant Systems, safety is something we build together. By investing in training and preparing our team, we are making sure we are ready for today and for whatever comes next.
“We want to continue offering this training to more leaders and even other employees who are interested,” Jamie adds. “The more people we have trained, the stronger and safer our workplace becomes.”
