Massillon, OH — R2 Sealant Systems is proud to recognize Haylee Clark-Smith as our newest Quality Control Technician!

Haylee joined the R2 team as a Packer, spending her first few months learning the production process and gaining valuable hands-on experience on the manufacturing floor. Now, she has taken the next step in her career by joining the Quality Control team, where her attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to quality play an important role in R2’s continued growth.

A New Career Path

After graduating high school with culinary certifications, Haylee initially pursued a career in the culinary field. However, she soon realized that it wasn’t the right fit for her. Rather than limiting herself to one career path, Haylee remained open-minded and began exploring new opportunities.

That mindset eventually led her to R2 Sealant Systems.

From her first impressions, Haylee knew R2 was a place where she could see herself growing.

“My first impression of the R2 team and facility was how welcoming and supportive everyone is,” Haylee shared. “Everyone does their part to help make sure R2 succeeds and maintains high standards. I also really appreciate how clean and well organized the facility is.”

Finding Her Place in Quality Control

After a few months as a Packer, Haylee’s next chapter at R2 led her to Quality Control.

What attracted her to the role was the importance of quality to the company and its products. Haylee has always valued paying attention to the details and enjoys getting to the root of a problem.

“I like to find the problem, figure out what caused the problem, and making sure it doesn’t happen again,” she said.

Her experience on the production floor also gives her valuable insight as she steps into her new position. Understanding the manufacturing process firsthand allows Haylee to see how quality, production, communication, and teamwork all work together.

The Importance of Teamwork

For Haylee, a strong and efficient operations team starts with three key qualities: good communication, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.

She also believes it’s important for employees to understand not only what they are doing, but why they are doing it, and how their individual role contributes to the success of the business.

That team-first mindset is something Haylee plans to carry with her into Quality Control.

As she steps into her new role, her advice to anyone taking on a new position in manufacturing is simple: listen to your team, communicate well, and lead by example.

“Don’t be afraid to ask questions or learn from others. Stay focused on safety and quality. Remember that you’re all working together toward the same goal.”

Looking Ahead

Haylee is excited about what the future holds for R2 and hopes to play a part in the company’s continued growth.

“I see R2 continuing to grow exponentially. It’s exciting to see how much we grow every day,” she said. “I’d love to be a part of that by helping set strong quality standards for the future, supporting our team, and doing my part to help R2 continue to succeed.”

Her personal philosophy reflects the same determination she brings to her work: have a strong work ethic, treat others how you want to be treated, and never give up.

“I believe no matter who you are, if you want something in life, you can achieve it as long as you put your mind to it and don’t give up!”

Beyond the Production Floor

Outside of work, Haylee enjoys spending time with her family. She also loves fishing, camping, and taking every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

One thing people might be surprised to learn about her? Haylee loves bareback riding horses and has a passion for art and creativity.

From exploring a new career path to becoming a Packer and now advancing into Quality Control, Haylee’s journey at R2 is a great example of the opportunities that come from staying open-minded, working hard, and continuing to learn.
