(Massillon, OH) – R2 Sealant Systems is excited to announce the promotion of Joey Heeter to 2nd Shift Production Lead. Since joining the R2 team as a machine operator, Joey has quickly made an impact through his strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to support those around him.

Stepping Into Leadership

After spending the past four and a half months as a machine operator, Joey has gained valuable hands-on experience with R2’s equipment and production processes. His dedication and commitment to helping his team succeed made him a natural fit for this leadership opportunity.

“When I learned about the promotion, I was very excited to move up and have the opportunity,” Joey shares.

For Joey, stepping into a leadership role is about more than personal growth. It is about helping others succeed.

“What excites me most about this position is the opportunity to grow and gain experience, as well as help lead others,” Joey says. “I love being able to help people, and if I can make someone’s job easier, that means a lot to me.”

Experience That Carries Forward

Joey’s experience on the production floor has given him a unique perspective that he plans to bring into his new role.

“My time running machines has given me firsthand experience that allows me to help operators run equipment more easily while keeping machines operating safely and efficiently,” he explains.

The Power of a Great Team

One of the things Joey appreciates most about R2 is the teamwork he sees every day.

“What I love most is the teamwork,” he says. “Everyone on my shift works really well together. We always help each other, and everybody is willing to put in the effort, which makes the shift go much easier.”

Building and Growing With 2nd Shift

As 2nd Shift Production Lead, Joey has both short-term and long-term goals focused on continuous improvement.

“A short-term goal of mine is to identify repetitive machine issues and help get them fixed, while also helping operators better understand their equipment,” Joey shares. “Long term, I want to help set a standard for what is expected on our shift so we can run an efficient, clean, and safe operation.”

When reflecting on his journey at R2 so far, Joey is most appreciative of the support he has received.

“The most rewarding part of my journey at R2 has been the kindness the staff has shown me, the opportunities they have given me to grow, and the gratitude they have shown,” he says.

Advice for Those Looking to Grow

For team members looking to grow within the company, Joey offers simple advice:

“Work hard, show up, do your best at your job, and help others when you can. It does not go unnoticed.”
