Massillon, OH — R2 Sealant Systems is excited to welcome Jamie Miner as our new Safety Coordinator. With a diverse professional background and a passion for protecting people, Jamie brings valuable experience and a forward-thinking approach to our growing organization.

Jamie began his career in the telecom industry as a Network Analyst, working on cell towers and phone systems. After facing challenges in an evolving field, he chose to pivot and invest in his future by earning a master’s degree in Health and Wellness Management, ultimately leading him into the world of workplace safety.

“While finishing my degree, I was recruited by Amazon for an Environmental, Health, and Safety role – something I hadn’t previously considered,” Jamie explains. “It turned out to be a great opportunity to make a real impact by helping keep people safe and healthy.”

After gaining hands-on experience, Jamie was ready to take the next step. “I wanted the chance to take on a larger role and help build something from the ground up. R2 Sealant Systems offers exactly that opportunity.”

Why R2? A Chance to Build Something Meaningful

Jamie was drawn to R2 by the opportunity to create and shape something from the ground up.

“I spent the last couple of years at a very large company maintaining a health and safety program that was already built,” he explains. “What attracted me to R2 was the opportunity to build a health and safety program from the ground up and to create a culture of safety for a young company with much growth in its future.”

Creating a Culture of Safety and Accountability

For Jamie, safety is more than policies, it’s a mindset that starts with leadership and extends to every employee.

“To foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability, you have to have leadership commitment and accountability, with leaders visible and following the rules themselves,” he says. “It also takes employee engagement and empowerment, consistent training and documentation, clear communication, and the integration of safety and quality.”

His approach emphasizes a “no-blame” culture, where employees feel empowered to speak up, learn, and continuously improve.

Looking Ahead: Growth, Impact, and Opportunity

Jamie is energized by the opportunity to make a real difference at a pivotal time in R2’s growth. “I am excited to make a tangible impact with a young and growing company,” he shares. “To join the team at a point where I can learn the business, take on significant responsibility, put new policies in place, and help shape the company’s health and safety culture as it continues to grow.”

When it comes to the future, his outlook is simple:
“From what I have seen so far, the sky’s the limit at R2.”

He plans to contribute by strengthening the safety culture already in place and reinforcing a “safety-first” mindset that supports productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

Beyond the Workplace

Outside of work, Jamie has a unique and wonderful addition to his life—his border collie, Ty.

“Among several other pets, I have a working border collie, Ty,” he says. “He works full time in goose control, a humane, eco-friendly way to remove Canada geese from properties. He’s an intelligent and energetic part of our family.”

A Mindset for Success

Jamie lives by a simple but powerful motto:
“Don’t panic.”

“A lot can come at you in your professional life, and the default reaction is often to panic,” he explains. “But that can lead to illogical thinking and unnecessary stress. Stop, take a breath, think, and stay present in the moment. Set boundaries, stay mindful of your reactions, and stay healthy. You got this!”

Advice for Emerging Leaders

As Jamie steps into his new role, he’s focused on learning, listening, and building strong relationships.

“I am doing my best to meet people, listen, build trust, and understand the operation,” he shares. “I’m building a framework from my previous experience while staying flexible to what this company needs. It’s about getting quick wins where you can while planning for bigger changes down the road.”
